Free Time On My Hands

Free time on my hands could be a dangerous thing, but I'm determined to be really positive and enjoy this last week where I get Andrew all to myself! We've been reading lots of books and listening to relaxing music and for the first time tonight I was able to rock Andrew in our new glider! I absolutely love going in his room- I can definitely envision bringing him home everytime I go in there!

I also thought I would try making a post from my iPhone so that I won't be doing it for the first time from the NICU. I'm realizing that I can't post pics directly from the iPhone which I thought we would be able to do. If anyone knows how to do that, please let me know. I'll have to post the latest pics of the nursery in another post.

Thanks for cheering us on and for all of the encouraging stories!

  1. Sounds like you are enjoying every moment you have with your little man in your womb! I miss those days sometimes.

Andrew, you and your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers while you board the CDH roller coaster ride.

  2. How fortunate for Mom and baby Andrew to have a glider already. Looking forward to your pics! http://geek.thinkunique.org/2009/07/02/email-full-resolution-photos-from-iphone-3g-s/ might have ideas or perhaps you could email iphone photos to a different email account to download to computer or to another person who could post them to your blog. Remaining positive just as you are doing is truly wonderful. If you ever feel fear, please remember that it is OK. It is normal. Tip from the war zone (Iraq), if helpful: Feeling the electricity of fear fully--God gently reminded me of a long ago veteran's words, "...fear became my companion, I was able to befriend it." Simply saying internally, "Oh, there you are again! Looks like we'll be together awhile. You're a strange companion, but we'll get through this together just fine". So by God's Good Grace, "fear" tagged along much of my journey, dissapating into a loyal but silent companion, enabling me to think and concentrate more clearly. Working where you do, you probably don't have the apprehensions ellicited by newness of delivery room and procedures--you're already the "Pro". Delivery itself, however, is new to any first-time mother. Concentrating focus on any pink item for most people is very calming, as is concentrating on breathing patterns. Mental visualization of the most beautiful place you've experienced, all minute details of it, whatever is awesomely beautiful or comforting to you helps, too. Mentally or in actuality smelling whatever scents you enjoy most is more effective for some women than "deep breathing" itself to relax the dighragm and expand the rib cage for maximum intake of air. You are a spiritual person. God will guide you. Plus you have the tremendous force of collective positive energy from so many family members and friends sent continually to you three. 3. I am so glad you are relaxing. We used to read books to Nayeli. It was so much fun. Your little guy will come out fighting. We will be praying for all of you

  4. The only way I know to post pictures to blogger is by emailing them via picture text message. You have to set your blogger up for text message posts though. It's not hard at all. You sign up with your mobile # and then it will give you an email address to text to. What I did was made a contact for blogger in my phone and instead of putting a # I just added an email address. And then to send a pic to my blog, I open a picture message and attach the pic I want and select "Blogger" from my recipient list. Because I only have an email listed for that contact, it automatically emails it. The only downside is that you can only send 1 pic at a time (at least on my phone), but you can still add some text, just not an entire entry.

And I totally go in my baby's room and rock in the rocking chair and sing to him and read him books. I can't wait til he's here and I can do it while holding him.

    Good luck and God bless!
