SURGEON CALL....
Our son (Andrew) was diagnosed with a left sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) during our routine 17 week fetal ultrasound. The defect involves a hole in the diaphragm that allows the abdominal contents to reside in the chest, not leaving room for Andrew's lungs to develop properly. Shortly after birth he was also diagnosed with severe coarctation of the aorta. Andrew's long battle with CDH was cut short by a small bowel obstruction that they were unable to repair on October 30th, 2009.
Look at that face! I just want to kiss it! And he's looking fantastic as far as swelling. You can really tell he's shedding fluid. So awesome Becky and Gene. What a trooper he is!

Praise be to God! Andrew looks so intlligent, too--as though thinking, "I'm not sure what's going on--but I AM going to figure this out!" Andrew looks like an "old soul", calmly connecting with you with his eyes already. Miracle from God--and you are helping this miracle unfold!

And yes Becky he will share many a kiss from those who love him-germs and all. I can see your face now when I say germs. Ha! I learned they help them grow. What a beautiful face-what not to love. I thank you God for today for Andrew, Becky and Gene.
